...to our fantastic 15th Century mill, a little place in Surrey we like to call home! Sitting on its own lake with far reaching views across the water from our terrace, the Wiremill has become one of Britain’s most treasured pubs. Once famous for producing staples for St Paul Cathedral, London, now famous for hosting weary travellers, hungry patrons and the occasional stray pony.

We are Colin, Anthony, Tim and Jason, and the Wiremill is our pub. When we bought the mill in September 2007 it was a struggling, bankrupt statistic. In the past four and a bit years we are extremely proud to say that the mill has once again returned to thriving times. It’s with enormous thanks to our brilliant customers who travel from near and afar in search of a tasty pint, good, honest food and a place to escape the day to day, if only for a few hours.

We have kept the website simple (Tim designs it so it needs to be!) to look around and hopefully find everything you need before coming and exploring the mill for yourself.

In the Pub section you can find information on the history of our amazing mill, guides to getting here, local attractions in our part of the world and things to do around us. Some of the sections still need a little work and will be live in the next week.

In the Food section we have given you a flavour of Jason’s cooking and the reason we do what we do, daily. We have some amazing suppliers, farmers and growers in our region and we love showcasing the best ingredients we can find, nothing comes from a packet here with the exception of crisps and nuts.

In the Room section we show off the fantastic bedrooms we have created in the heart of the mill. Conceived by us, made by us and populated by visitors we hope leave as friends, the rooms have added a new dimension to the mill and we love them to bits.

We have an amazing team that work at the pub lead by Rebecca. They are the face of our business and without them we really wouldn’t have anything apart from a nice looking old building and a lake, they are what makes us who we are; an independent, thriving business in times of uncertainty and gloom. We promise when you are here nothing will remind you of the outside world, this is a place to escape the day to day and enjoy yourself.
